Location: Riverton
Alyssa is a certified social worker who graduated from the University of Southern California with a focus in children, youth, and families. She also has experience with an opioid workforce training program. She is passionate about early intervention and prevention and has a deep interest in attachment theory. Alyssa believes in the importance of strengthening your relationship with yourself and relationships with others. Alyssa was drawn to social work due to a lifelong desire to help others, especially by helping children develop a healthy attachment to their primary caregiver. She recognizes the importance of identifying strengths and barriers in an individual’s social system and how that impacts mental health. Alyssa believes that there is not a one-size-fits-all treatment for all individuals and therefore uses a variety of modalities including: play, sand tray, expressive arts, problem solving, solution focused, cognitive behavioral, and motivational interviewing. While Alyssa has a particular interest in working with children, she also enjoys working with adults.
A Southern California native, Alyssa has spent the last few years between Utah and California but is here to stay to be near her extended family. In her free time, she can be found at Disneyland, the beach, the lake, and with her family.
